Finding the match
- Open the TV guide and filter to the sports category to see what’s live and what starts next.
- Use search to jump to a channel by name.
- Add your regular channels to favourites so match day is one click away.
Many sports channels appear in several qualities. Choose 4K or Full HD on a fast connection, or HD if your connection is busy.
Tips for smooth live sport
Live sport is the most demanding thing you can stream, because fast movement needs more data and the whole world is watching at the same time.
- Use a cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. An Ethernet connection is the single best fix for buffering.
- Start a few minutes early so the stream settles before kick-off.
- Pause downloads and game updates on other devices during the match.
- Restart your device before a big event to clear its memory.
- Switch quality if your connection struggles: a steady HD picture beats a stuttering 4K one.

Sports channel questions
Will I see the big matches live?
Yes. Live sports channels stream as they’re broadcast. A short delay of a few seconds to a minute compared with satellite TV is normal for internet streaming.
Can I watch a match I missed?
On channels with catch-up, you can go back to programmes that already aired for a limited time. Highlights shows are also a good option.
Why does sport buffer when movies don’t?
Live sport needs a higher, steadier data rate and is watched by many people at once. A wired connection and a quick device restart fix most match-day buffering.
